GVW Crane Truck Hire was in the market for a new truck to replace its Mack. So who would have thought that you could take a 700 series SS prime mover and fit a 7mt tray and crane? ISR and Gerard from GVW Crane Truck Hire that’s who.
Working together with CTS engineering the chassis was stretched to a 6.4mt wheel base. Once this was done the truck was sent to Somerton Smash repairs for a bit of a paint job that Gerard had designed. Also at this time the Genuine Hino side skirts and sun visor were fitted.
From there it was back to CTS for the tray fitment then into Gerard’s hands to cover the Crane swap over.
Along the way it would seem that Gerard had simply brought the entire catalogue from The Truckers Toy store. With a full replacement rear bar, LED lights on every corner and a nice big set of air horns all to be fitted, this was always going to be something a little different from the norm.
Once the truck was back at ISR it was into the Hino accessory list for even more stuff. Including, Genuine Hino Bulbar, Radiator Stone Guard, Foot Well Liners, Pollen Filter, and Heated Electric Mirrors. There were also 5 roof lights, UHF, DVD Player, Reverse Camera, Rotating Beacons, Polished Alcoa Alloys, as well as a downward facing mirror for the passenger side.
Once all that was done it was off to McCabe Engineering for custom tool boxes, and then it was off to work.
